CLDP conducted its 4^th joint Third Country Training Program (TCTP) course on Intellectual Property Enforcement and Customs Investigations with Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Intellectual Property Academy on March 14-18, 2016 in Singapore.  The course focused on customs, intellectual property rights enforcement, and counterfeiting, and on the negative impact of counterfeit goods on the economy, public health, and the environment. Thirty-five participants from nine ASEAN countries attended the course. CLDP has partnered with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the National Intellectual Property Center to provide expertise on global investigations, CBP’s new Centers of Excellence Model, and risk assessments. The program also included site visits to eBay Singapore and FedEx, where participants learned how the private and public sectors cooperate to monitor goods and prevent the transit of counterfeits.
