CLDP, in cooperation with the Ukraine Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, supported the Legislative Drafting Workshop on Pre-Arrival Processing Procedures and Handling of Expedited Shipments. The Workshop took place in Kyiv, Ukraine on February 22-24, 2017 and aimed at reviewing and reforming Ukraine’s current legislation impacting pre-arrival processing and handling expedited shipments, in light of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) and the Revised Kyoto Convention. It helped to identify the discrepancies between the international framework and in the underlying legislation and regulations governing pre-arrival processing procedures and handling of expedited shipments. The workshop assisted the Ukrainian government to reform the existing legislation and streamline its practical application and will result in revised and more efficient system of rules on pre-arrival processing procedures and handling of expediting shipments in line with international standards and best practices.  Thus, it will help improve the trade and investment climate in Ukraine.
