On July 26-28, CLDP led a workshop on technology transfer for advisors and practitioners in Yerevan, Armenia. Representatives from American University of Armenia (AUA), Yerevan State University, National Polytechnic University, National Science Academy, and private sector law firms attended the program held at AUA. The workshop aimed to build the institutions’ capacity to commercialize the results of their research, particularly through three domains: intellectual property protection strategy, valuation of new technologies, and negotiation of technology licenses. U.S. experts leading the workshop included Julie Lenzer, Associate Vice President for Economic Development, University of Maryland (UMD), Mojdeh Bahar, Assistant Administrator for Agriculture Research Service’s Office of Technology Transfer, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Dr. Steven Kubsien, Director of George Washington University (GWU)’s Office of Technology Transfer.
