On March 17-20, 2019, CLDP sponsored delegations of franchising stakeholders from Algeria and Tunisia, including government officials and private-sector executives, in which they attended a workshop and visited an expo focused on international franchising in Paris, France.
The delegation attended an intensive two-day training focusing on the basic concepts and legal aspects of franchising, including a visit to a local franchise. The participants also attended the Franchise Expo Paris, one of the largest such events in the world, with more than 500 franchises represented. At the expo, participants were introduced to U.S. franchises, facilitated in cooperation with U.S. Embassy Paris.
This program is funded through the U.S. Department of State's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) as part of a multi-year effort to develop the franchising sectors in Algeria and Tunisia, with an aim of promoting entrepreneurship and economic development in those countries.
