On March 15-18, CLDP, in cooperation with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), led a virtual consultation on the collective management framework in Georgia.  The program was attended by representative of Sakpatenti and other IP stakeholders.  During the program, experts from the USPTO, WIPO, and international collective management organizations presented and led discussions on best practices in collective management.  CLDP moderated a discussion on the current state of collective management in Georgia that assisted Sakpatenti and other IP stakeholders to identify gaps in the legal and institutional framework and to develop a roadmap for strengthening current legislation to remove ambiguity and implementing new institutional mechanisms that reinforce the legal obligations of CMOs.
