From February 12 – 14, 2024, CLDP supported a delegation of Ukrainian officials from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria, and the Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and Industry on a trade and investment promotion visit to Lagos, Nigeria. To help Ukraine’s financial sustainability by creating jobs and generating revenues for the government, CLDP is helping Ukraine build its capacity in enhancing trade relationships with other countries, including Nigeria. This visit aimed to build new connections, and strengthen existing ones, between the Ukrainian and Nigerian business communities, with a specific focus on the agribusiness sector. The delegation met with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ukraine-Nigeria Business Council, the American Business Council in Nigeria, government officials from the Lagos State Commission on Agriculture, and over 20 private businesses. As a result of this visit, Ukrainian and Nigerian officials plan to set up a series of events connecting businesses on a more targeted level and to discuss a possible collaboration in the Lagos Free Zone.
