As part of CLDP's ongoing support of the Iraqi judiciary in the area of commercial law, CLDP and the Federal Judicial Center in Washington DC organized a workshop for senior judiciary officials on judicial education for sitting judges. The Iraqi judiciary recently established the Judicial Development Institute to train its sitting judges on new areas of law. Due to the increase of foreign commercial activity and investment, the Iraqi courts have identified commercial law as a high priority for technical assistance programs. The ten-day program focused on a variety of topics including curriculum development, judicial ethics, judgment writing, faculty development and judgment writing.
