On August 5-8, 2019, CLDP supported the participation of a delegate from the State Service of Intellectual Property and Innovation, Krygyz Republic, and the Kazakh Patent Agency in a Trademarks IP Office Administration training, hosted by the USPTO in Alexandria, Virginia. The 4-day program addressed the operation and administration of a trademark office, providing information and ideas to improve trademark office processes by developing strategic plans, establishing workflow, reducing pendency, improving quality, and overall creating efficiencies and a better customer experience. Strengthening and improving intellectual property protections in Central Asia are key to increasing foreign direct investment and trade in the region.
