On April 26-27, 2016, as part of a multi-phase technical assistance project on capacity building and public awareness engagement on collective copyright management with Armauthor, CLDP held an awareness raising and capacity building workshops in cooperation with Armauthor .  Armauthor is the sole collective copyright management organization (CMO) of authors’ rights and related rights in Armenia. Workshop attendees included Armenian government representatives, representatives of Armenian businesses (including hotels, restaurants, and broadcasting stations), to discuss the role collective copyright management organizations, the rights they administer, the use of licensing fees, and the types of rights that are protected. The first day was followed by targeted consultations with Armenian judges who handle cases involving the collective copyright management, and with Armauthor to discuss management of related rights. The programs was led by U.S. and European-based CMOs, and Armenian private and government IP specialists.
