On December 3-4, CLDP staff met with members of a Moroccan delegation as part of the third meeting of the US-Morocco Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Joint Committee hosted by the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR). CLDP provided details regarding its current workplan for Morocco, which includes regional technical assistance programs in the areas of intellectual property, government procurement, commercial arbitration and customs harmonization.
CLDP also engaged the delegation regarding its request for a variety of technical assistance programs related to the implementation of the FTA, including capacity-building for the enforcement of antidumping measures and for the configuration and management of public guarantee funds. CLDP’s technical assistance to the Government of Morocco is supported through funds from the Department of State’s Middle East Response Fund (MERF).
