CLDP sponsored the participation of a law school student and a teaching assistant from the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law to attend the 5th Annual Institute in International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution in Zagreb and Zadar, Croatia. This four-week program, taught by leaders in the field, provided an examination of international business transactions, the law governing international sales of goods, and international commercial arbitration. The program also highlighted a number of key legal instruments arising out of the work of UNCITRAL. The first three weeks of instruction were further enhanced by a final week of skills training applying students’ newly acquired legal expertise to a simulated dispute arising out of an international sale of goods and subject to arbitration.

This program is part of CLDP's assistance to the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law to develop and expand its international commercial law and arbitration curricula and help the University to train a team of students to compete in the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot), held in Vienna, Austria. The Vis Moot is the pre-eminent moot on commercial law and arbitration with law school teams from over 290 universities and 67 countries taking part in the written and oral advocacy competition in 2013.
