On June 22, USAID Dominican Republic (DR) held a ceremony for its new Mission Director. The ceremony included remarks from USAID Administrator Ambassador Samantha Power and the Charge d’Affaires (CDA) for the DR, Robert Thomas. Ambassador Power highlighted CLDP’s programming in the DR to train public procurement staff as a key component of anti-corruption programming. The CDA also mentioned CLDP’s efforts to assist the DR with its legislative reform agenda to increase transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in the procurement system. CLDP recently received $1 million in USAID funding to expand programming to include additional anti-corruption training and a focus on public-private partnerships.
