CLDP and a team of IP experts conducted seminars on the fundamentals of intellectual property (IP) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and the Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw School of Engineering and Technology (NED) in Islamabad and Karachi, Pakistan, respectively. CLDP has been working with NUST and NED on the development of technology-transfer offices and incubators in an effort to create innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems that support commercialization of university-based research. Program topics included the role of IP in economic development, patent, trademark and copyright fundamentals. These seminars raised participants’ awareness of their IP rights and empowered them to strategically manage IP issues in the commercialization of university-based research.
