Due to the increased flow of trade through the Gulf, strengthening intellectual property enforcement and border control measures to counter the global spread of counterfeit goods has become increasingly important. 

From September 7-10, 2025 CLDP, in partnership with the @U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), @U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the @Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the @Saudi Authority on Intellectual Property (SAIP), and the @Japan Patent Office, and featuring experts from @WIPO, @OECD, and several U.S. industry representatives, convened intellectual property and customs officials from all six GCC countries for an engagement focused on promoting best practices in intellectual property protection, improving enforcement capabilities, enhancing the visibility of counterfeit seizures to reduce consumer demand for illicit goods, and fostering a more secure and predictable business environment in the region.
