In July, 2015, CLDP traveled to Islamabad, Pakistan for consultations with the Intellectual Property Office of Pakistan (IPO) regarding planned revisions to Pakistan’s intellectual property (IP) laws. In response to the IPO’s new Chairman expressing interest in advancing IP reforms, CLDP submitted a proposal to convene an IP Working Group comprised of IPO staff and seasoned IP lawyers in Pakistan. The working group would prepare draft amendments to Pakistan’s IP laws that are in accordance with international standards. IPO approved the general framework of CLDP’s proposal and agreed to an inaugural session of the working group in September 2015.
