On March 3, CLDP, in cooperation with the General Directorate for Supply (DGA) and the Supervisory Body for Public Contracting (OSCE), conducted a virtual workshop to provide recommendations on procurement professionalization in Peru’s draft procurement law and regulations. The workshop, utilizing CLDP and a Peruvian expertise, provided recommendations to strengthen the professionalization provisions of the draft law, based on best practices and standards from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the U.S. federal procurement system, and those of the region. Recommendations included the creation of a specialized procurement career series and the requirement to certify its procurement professionals.
