CLDP has extensive experience in conducting technology transfer programs around the world.  Through these programs, CLDP is engaged with government ministries, universities and key private sector stakeholders on the sustainable establishment and operation of technology transfer offices (TTOs) and technology incubators (TIs) on university campuses. 

In support of CLDP efforts already underway and to initiate regional cooperation, CLDP conducted a Regional Forum on Establishment of Technology Transfer Offices and Technology Incubators in Istanbul, Turkey on April 8-11, 2013.  Participating countries included Iraq, Pakistan, Tunisia and Turkey. Participants were key government, university, and private-sector stakeholders. 

The format for this conference included plenary sessions, lectures, working breakout sessions, case studies and site visits to local TTOs and TIs. Topics covered include IP protection and management strategy; technology valuation; technology commercialization; technology licensing and incubator value-added services. At the end of the program, the participants gained a better understanding of best practices in establishing and operating TTOs and TIs in the region.  The participants also formed new regional relationships that can support meaningful commercialization of university-based research in each respective country.
