To protect intellectual property rightsholders and stop the flow of counterfeit goods, preserving economic assets while safeguarding public health and the environment by disrupting fraudulent supply chains, the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) led a two-day program on intelligence gathering and investigation techniques for the enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights and the prevention of counterfeits.  

 CLDP worked in close collaboration with Tunisia’s Ministry of Trade, the National Institute of Standardization and Intellectual Property (INNORPI) and Tunisian Customs, as well as CBP, DHS, the IP House, Bristol Myers Squibb, and the City of London Police IP Crime to provide best practices to Tunisian attendees.  

Tunisian government personnel including economic agents and customs officers who are on the front lines of identifying and seizing counterfeit products learned about international best practices in intelligence gathering, investigative techniques and inter-agency collaboration for identifying counterfeit products, control and seizure procedures, and prosecution for effective enforcement of intellectual property rights and combating counterfeiting.
