CLDP and the World Bank co-sponsored US Consultations for Improving the Business Environment in Morocco from April 25-29, 2016. The program was designed in coordination with the Moroccan National Committee for the Business Environment (CNEA), whose 12 delegates attended the program, and it aimed to strengthen the CNEA’s capacity to implement commercial law reforms in Morocco. The consultations covered topics such as contract enforcement, arbitration, insolvency, government performance evaluation, and economic indicators. They featured meetings with the Federal Judicial Center, Office of Management and Budget, the Small Business Administration, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland, several departments of the World Bank, a think tank, and a law firm. This U.S. visit is part of CLDP’s multi-year cooperation with the CNEA in an effort to improve the business environment in Morocco for increased investment and economic growth.
