CLDP held a Workshop on Economic Modeling and Trade Policy Development in Kyiv for 14 Ukrainian government officials.  The workshop was led by Dr. Marinos Tsigas, an expert in macroeconomic modeling from the U.S. International Trade Commission. The program will help Ukrainian officials use quantitative economic analysis in free-trade negotiations and to conduct macroeconomic policy forecasts. The workshop is the third phase of CLDP-Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) programming aimed at improving the quality of trade and economic policy formulation, in Ukraine’s efforts to fulfill its obligations under the WTO. Completion of this multi-phase program will enable Ukraine to conduct a more economically justified approach to the formulation of its future trade policy and to better leverage its position in negotiations with WTO members and other parties.
