CLDP continued to conduct the Summer 2005 campaign of regional conferences dealing with WTO accession and to encourage public dialogue about the issue in Russia.

Egyptian telecommunications regulators from the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority NTRA) met with their counterparts from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, DC for a week of consultations on the development of telecom competition guidelines in Egypt.

Omani and UAE judges engaged in a commercial law study tour in the US and work with US judges in order to identify necessary criteria for commercial law specialization.

CLDP convened a four-day workshop for officials from ministries and agencies tasked with the protection and administration of food safety, and plant and animal health.

In support of the CLDP judicial reform program, which aims to increase the judiciary's knowledge of commercial law, the goal of the curriculum development program is to strengthen legal education in the Middle East by designing a commercial law curriculum for universities in the region.
