CLDP collaborated with the Dominican Republic’s public procurement authority, the General Directorate for Public Contracting (DGCP) to conduct a workshop in Santo Domingo on best practices in the administration of public contracts to address challenges of performance and non-compliance in the procurement system. CLDP shared US and international best practices on contract administration planning, management of modifications, protection of intellectual property issues and contract termination, among others, to prepare Dominican officials to implement the new procurement regulation. CLDP will also be working with the DGCP on a contract administration guidebook for all government agencies to institutionalize the best practices presented during the workshop. This workshop is part of CLDP’s multi-phase, USAID-funded project to assist the DR in improving the transparency and effectiveness of its public procurement system.
