On August 25, CLDP conducted a roundtable with the General Directorate for Public Contracting’s (DGCP) newly appointed procurement compliance officers, who will play a key role in the procurement process. The goal was to obtain feedback on past CLDP programming and begin assessing the officers’ training needs. On August 26, CLDP organized a roundtable with the DGCP and the Dominican Republic’s competition council, ProCompetencia, to discuss how to strengthen the detection and investigation of anti-competitive conduct in the procurement process. As a result of the meeting, the DGCP and ProCompetencia agreed to pursue an interagency agreement with the country’s public prosecutors to leverage their investigative authorities.
