On November 3, CLDP, in coordination with the Dominican General Directorate for Ethics and Government Integrity (DIGEIG), conducted its first workshop for the Dominican government on best practices in safeguarding ethics and integrity principles. The hybrid workshop was led by a former ethics official from the General Services Administration (GSA) and provided the 18 participants with an overview of the ethical principles that serve as the foundation for the US ethics and integrity framework. The presentations also explained the functions and roles of the government ethics offices and the inspector generals in addition to showcasing examples of how real investigations were started, managed, and ultimately disclosed to the public. This hybrid workshop is part of CLDP’s multi-phase USAID-funded anti-corruption programming, which was identified as a pilot program in the Biden administration’s anti-corruption strategy.
