On March 30, CLDP, in cooperation with the Dominican Confederation of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, conducted a consultation focused on identifying issues and potential solutions in the country’s current public procurement law that impacts small businesses. The participants represented a broad section of the Dominican small business sector, including the main Dominican women’s business associations. This session is part of technical support CLDP is providing the Dominican General Directorate for Public Contracting (DGCP) to improve access to government contracts for small and women-owned businesses. The effort aims at improving gaps and inefficiencies in the current accessibility framework in a way that effectively includes private-sector feedback. This session makes way for a more in-depth CLDP-conducted technical discussion between DGCP and the small business sector scheduled for April 15.
