On December 6-7, CLDP led a workshop for the General Directorate for Public Procurement, the General Directorate for Governmental Ethics and Integrity, and the Legal Advisory Office of the Presidency to provide final recommendations to the draft of the Dominican Republic’s (DR) public procurement law before the it is presented to the Dominican Congress. The workshop discussed recommendations that included the following: strengthen the institutional framework of the procurement system, professionalize the procurement work force, mitigate conflicts of interest, and enhance the enforcement of inclusivity mechanisms. This program is part of CLDP’s support of the DR to address issues of efficiency, transparency, sustainability, and inclusivity for small and women-owned businesses in its public procurement system.
