Dominican Republic: CLDP Presents Recommendations on Draft Procurement Law

On October 13, CLDP led a technical session with Dominican officials from the General Directorate for Public Procurement, the General Directorate for Governmental Ethics and Integrity, and the Legal Advisory Office of the Presidency, to provide recommendations on the reform of the current draft of the Dominican Republic’s (DR) public procurement law. This session followed CLDP’s initial recommendations from earlier this year, and  provided the DR with technical legal solutions to strengthen the institutional framework of the procurement system, professionalize the procurement work force, mitigate conflicts of interest, and strengthen the enforcement of inclusivity mechanisms. CLDP’s efforts are part of a multi-year, USAID-funded program to increase transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in the procurement system.
