On October 26, the President of the Dominican Republic enacted a decree creating a new framework to promote inclusive and sustainable public procurement. The decree, developed by the Dominican General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) with CLDP technical assistance, establishes an institutional framework and mechanism for the Dominican government to increase sustainability in the national procurement system. CLDP has held several consultations with DGCP officers, providing input on international best practices, pragmatic implementation, and coherence in the institutional framework needed to implement this type of decree. This work is part of CLDP's effort to improve comprehensive inclusivity and sustainability in the Dominican Republic's public procurement system.
