CLDP supported the Algerian government's Agency for Technology Transfer (ANVREDET) in an international conference on the theme of research and innovation in the economic world that will be held May 19-21, 2008 in Algiers.

CLDP and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) visited Manama, Bahrain to hold consultations with Bahrain Customs Affairs and provide a training session on the Rules of Origin and Customs Administration chapters of the U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement.

On May 16, 2008, Ukraine became the 152nd member country of the WTO. Ukraine applied for WTO membership in 1993. CLDP has teamed with the WTO Accession team right from the beginning to help Ukraine navigate the long road to accession.

Following on several training programs and workshops for the newly organized Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA), CLDP sponsored the participation of legal and economic staff from the ECA to attend a workshop on Antitrust and Economics to be held from May 13-16, 2008 in Washington, DC.
