In February 2009, CLDP brought together IP and enforcement officials from across West Africa (under the auspices of the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS] to Ghana, to determine ways to improve IP protection in West Africa. Two key recommendations of the workshop were:

In close collaboration with the Pakistan Supreme Court through its Federal Judicial Academy (FJA), CLDP organized a three-week (October 25-November 12) judicial capacity building program focusing on the topics of judicial enforcement of intellectual property rights and foreign arbitral awards.

The Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency (ECPA) is a public, independent legal entity under the political aegis of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). The ECPA was created by The Consumer Protection Law (Law 67/2006) and Executive Regulations in August 2006.

To strengthen the ongoing support of the Egyptian Competition Authority, CLDP will send an expert advisor to present and initiate a curriculum developed in partnership with the staff of leading Egyptian organizations and universities specializing in competition law and economics.
